What Can I Expect From A Plant Spirit  Treatment?
The first session that you have with your practitioner is a comprehensive assessment that can last anything between 90 minutes and  two and a half hours. You will be asked about your current state of health and about any concerns you may have, whether they be physical, mental or emotional in origin. This first session follows the traditional diagnosis system used in  classical Chinese Five Element medicine, and gives the practitioner an opportunity to gain insight into the way that you may  respond to plant spirit treatments  as well as allowing time for a healing relationship to begin to develop between you. There will also be some basic physical examination, such as pulse taking, and checking the alignment of your spine. However, there is no physical manipulation  involved.Treatment by the plant spirits usually begins on the second visit which is usually planned for a time within the next week. This session is shorter,  generally between 45 and 90 minutes. During the treatment  you will usually lie on your back on a massage couch. You will not be asked to remove any clothing except shoes and socks. The practitioner  administers the treatment by placing their hands lightly on your body.  No substances are given in plant spirit treatment. The practitioner will frequently check your energy pulses on both wrists to assess  your response to each step of the treatment.

How Will I Feel After A  Treatment?
Every person’s response to treatment will be unique but generally it is usual to feel quite relaxed after a session. It is always recommended  to organise the rest of the day after the treatment to be as undemanding as possible. Your practitioner will always be available to talk to you and assess your pulses between sessions if it is necessary. They will advise you of the times when they are available.
How Long Will Each Treatment Session Last?
The first session (assessment)  is usually between 90 minutes and two and a half hours.The second session (first treatment) is usually between 45 and 90 minutes.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?
Subsequent treatments are usually timed weekly at first and then will become more spread out, depending on individual needs. As  these  treatments  are  a shared process of healing involving you, the plants spirits and your practitioner, it is  a process which needs to be honoured with the appropriate amount of time for changes to occur. It is always difficult to predict how long this may be, but it is important that you are prepared to make the necessary commitment to enable your own process of healing to occur.  Plant spirit treatment is not intended as  as a one-off session.
Do  Plant Spirit Treatments Involve Any Herbal Medicines?
As the plants are being used on a spiritual level they are not given to you in a physical form to take internally.

How Safe  Are Plant Spirit Treatments?
This form of plant spirit  work  is concerned with restoring  harmony and balance within your being, and does not use any medical or other intervention that is likely to cause side-effects or other physical problems. Sometimes in the process of returning to health certain ailments which have been suppressed in the past may work themselves out, this may cause some temporary aggravations in the form of old symptoms temporarily returning However, these will usually be short-lived. Your practitioner has been trained to ensure that you are given any support and assistance that you might need during any time that such problems might surface.

Can I Have Plant Spirit  Treatment If I Am Pregnant?
As this form of working with plant spirits is in accordance with the laws of nature  there is no reason why  plant spirit treatment shouldn’t be used during pregnancy  as it is always supporting our own journey towards balance and wholeness, and is not a threat to natural processes such as pregnancy. However if you have specific concerns you should speak to your practitioner.

Can Plant Spirits Treat…?
Plant spirit  treatments  focus on the underlying constitutional balance of each individual. When this balance improves the symptoms of specific conditions will also improve. The symptoms are actually the messengers of imbalances at deeper levels and merely treating the symptoms will not resolve the underlying causes of sickness. Plant spirit treatments  can help everyone whatever their situation in furthering them on their own journey of healing by bringing us closer to a state of balance and harmony.

Can I have  Plant Spirit Treatments in Conjunction with other Therapies?
Your practitioner will not tell you to discontinue any medication that you might be using that has been prescribed to you by your doctor. However,   for your practitioner  to be sure that any changes which  occur in your condition are related to your treatment,  you  may be asked not to use any other therapies concurrently with  plant spirit treatments, especially those which may be acting on an energetic or spiritual level.

What Is  Five Element  Diagnosis?
The Five Elements are Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. They are energetic forces which are seen in all natural phenomena including human beings. When the Five Elements are in balance within us, Vital Energy or Qi flows from one element to another, creating health and happiness. When they are out of balance, the natural flow of Qi becomes disturbed or blocked, resulting in illness and disease. Plant spirit  practitioners are trained to assess each of your five elements and arrive at a diagnosis of the source of any imbalance or discord within or between them. This is then addressed by calling to the plant spirits who carry the particular energy needed.

What Is Shamanism?
Shamanism is a vision of the world which accepts that all material things are dependent for their existence on an underlying spiritual reality. By engaging with this spiritual reality it is possible to effect in a positive way outcomes within the material world. Plant spirit practitioners engage with shamanic techniques in such a way as to convey the benign healing energies of plant spirits to bring about  healing on the level of spirit, which will then surface as healing in the material world itself.
